Do I have to be 21 or older with a state issued ID to attend the Pub Crawl tour?
Yes, this is a adults only 21 and older tour. You must have a valid ID and will be "carded" at all bars. Failure to attend without your ID will not result in any refunds. Please be prepared.
Do we go into the haunted pubs on the tour?
Yes, we will stop at three bars and pubs. You can meet their "spirits" yourself!
Will I see ghosts on the tour?
The Haunted Haight Walking Tour cannot guarantee that you will experience any ghosts on this tour. However, there have been occasions where a ghost has made itself known to tour members.
Will I be scared?
Some people can find the stories frightening and macabre. This is not a “spook house” attraction where people are hidden throughout the walk to jump out and scare you.
How long is the tour?
The tour is approximately 2 hours with no steep hills.
What is your background on ghosts?
Your tour guides have been investigating the paranormal for over 20 years.. they operate The San Francisco Ghost Society, a paranormal group that investigates claims of the supernatural in San Francisco. THEY have been featured in several newspaper pieces and has appeared on The History Channel and Travel Channel. They gave also lectured on ghosts and the paranormal at several events. The organization also has hosted many conferences in various locations in the Bay Area.
How did you gather your facts for your tales?
The ghost stories you hear on the tour are well known ghosts in the area as well as researched phenomena. Your tour guides work closely with resources from the San Francisco Public Library’s History Center, City Hall and the Police Department to create the tour. Residents also came forward with stories of their places being haunted and your guides have investigated the history behind the many stops on the tour.
Are you a licensed tour guide?
Yes. Your tour guide is permitted and licensed with The City of San Francisco since 2005.
Do you allow children?
The tour does not allow children. You must be 21 years or older and have a valid state issued ID.
Why do I need advance tickets for the tour?
The tour has very limited capacity so we ask for advance reservations.
Do you accept cash or check?
The Haunted Haight Walking Tour does not accept personal checks. The preferred method of payment is credit or debit card through our ticket supplier at TicketSpice.com.
Are there any hills on the tour?
There are NO HILLS on this tour. Yes, I repeat there are no hills on this tour! :)
What if I am in a wheelchair?
The tour does have wheelchair ramps on all corners of the walk. The bars are all handicap accessible.
Do you allow pets?
Well-behaved pets are encouraged on the tour. San Francisco law requires all pets to be leashed.
What are the dates, time and starting place?
The tour starts at Magnolia Brewing Company - located @ 1398 Haight (cross street is Masonic) usually at 7:00pm Sharp! The times can vary Halloween month so always check availability. WE MUST LEAVE ON TIME. Please visit our ticket vendor for available dates at TicketSpice.com
How do I get to the tour on public transportation?
The tour is accessible by public transportation. Take Muni # 7 or #6 on Market going West and get off at Masonic Avenue. We start tours at 1398 HaIght Street in front of Magnolia's Brewery.
Where can I park if I am driving?
Street parking is available if you can be patient. The Haight-Ashbury does not have ample parking. However, with a little patience you can find a spot. Make sure you allow plenty of time for parking. If you would like to park in a PUBLIC PAID PARKING LOT…there is one available on Stanyan Street between Waller and Frederick. Leave nothing in your car that is visible. San Francisco has a car break in issue.
Can I take pictures, video or audio record the tour?
Still pictures ARE ALLOWED but NO VIDEO or NO AUDIO recording please.
Should I bring a jacket and wear comfortable shoes on the tour?
Yes. We recommend bringing a jacket and wearing comfortable shoes. The Haight-Ashbury is part of what is called the "fog belt" and evenings are usually pretty chilly.
How many people do I need to get a private tour?
Private Tours are offered for 10 or more people. Private tours are usually held Monday through Thursday. Please email us [email protected] for details.
